2019 season is upon us and there is lots to look forward to...

May 2, 2019

The fixtures are in the book and Combe will open up their return to Division 2 with back to back away fixtures at Barnstaple & Pilton CC and Bideford & Westward Ho CC. Barnstaple & Pilton fell agonisingly short of promotion to Divison 1 last season so this will be a stern test first up. In addition to our league fixtures we have 10 friendlies lined up vs a mixture of local Devon sides and touring sides from further a field.

We have new kit sponsors this year. A big thank you to Lee Hussell and Webbers, they will be our shirt sponsors through the 2019 and 2020 season and the shirts look fantastic.

We also have a brand new mobile batting net, A vital piece of equipment and another huge step forward for the club. This was funded by extremely kind donations from Club members; Mr & Mrs Pearse, Mr & Mrs Challcombe, and Mr & Mrs Dave Cain.

FRIDAY NIGHT T20'S ARE BACK!

We have 8 inter club T20 matches set out throughout the season on Friday nights. This is a great way for younger players and members of the public to join in and have a game. It is always run with a great family atmosphere and involves music, drinking and a BBQ. All ages and abilities are welcome and we look forward to seeing a lot of new faces this year.

ALL STARS!

All stars returns for a young budding cricketers, the first session starts at 6:00pm on Wednesday 15th May at Brimlands and will run for 8 sessions through until 3rd July. If we lose any sessions to the weather we can make them up beyond the 3rd July.

Finally...

THE ANNUAL 6 A-SIDE TOURNAMENT RETURNS...

This is an event we have been running for 4 years now and always proves a great success. Last year Spikes Sunrisers lifted the now famous Turners Cup after Chris Bulled assembled a team of ex superstars. This years event will be held on Saturday 25th May 2019. We will be holding a BBQ all day, kids games, gazebo, music, cheap drinks. We encourage as many people to come and watch as possible, it really is a great day. The cricket usually kicks off around midday and goes well into the evening. UPDATE: THIS TOURNAMENT WILL NO LONGER BE GOING AHEAD ON THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND DUE TO A 40 OVER FIXTURE VS BIDEFORED. ONCE A NEW DATE HAS BEEN AGREED WE WILL LET YOU KNOW.
