Ilfracombe Cricket Club are one step closer to achieving grass wickets

While a lot of clubs were sat twiddling their thumbs during a pandemic hit post season where not a lot was happening. Daniel Turton was busy securing vital funding for the club to purchase full cricket covers for just short of £5,000.

This is a crucial step forward in the clubs aim to be playing on grass wickets by the start of the 2022 league season.

Kevin Clarke and Nathan Townsend are putting in an enormous amount of hours in preparing and nurturing the square, and we aim to be playing T20 friendly matches on grass strips this year. If the wickets play well in these trial games, we hope to be playing some 40 over friendlies on grass at the back end of the season.
